These plans are NAT cloud servers, not dedicated-public-IPv4 VPS instances. The assigned connection details are visible in the customer portal after provisioning.

Service portsTwenty consecutive public TCP ports are assigned to each server. Port numbers are preserved through DNAT, so an assigned public port such as 20025 reaches the same port inside the guest.

Portal controlsStatus, power actions, credentials, labels, cancellation, and resumption are self-service. The assigned SSH and service-port range are displayed with the server.
Custom port changesCustom remapping is not currently self-service. Contact support before purchase when a workload requires specific inbound ports.
Not a fit for every workload: choose a dedicated-public-IP provider when your application requires arbitrary inbound port selection, its own public IPv4 address, or inbound protocols outside the assigned TCP block.

Can I choose my forwarded ports?

Not through the portal today. Each server receives one SSH mapping and an automatically allocated block of 20 consecutive TCP ports. Contact support before ordering when fixed port requirements determine compatibility.

Is the outbound IP shared?

Yes. Outbound IPv4 traffic leaves through shared NAT. This product is intended for ordinary Linux services and development workloads, not dedicated-IP reputation use cases.

Where are the servers located?

ServerCrate operates owned infrastructure in a single Los Angeles, California location. It is not marketed as a multi-region cloud.

Can I back up the server separately?

Yes. A ServerCrate backup vault is a separate product and failure domain. Install Restic in the guest and send encrypted backups over HTTPS.

Cloud server plus encrypted backup

A provider snapshot is convenient, but a separate encrypted backup vault is the safer recovery layer. Install Restic on your cloud server, send encrypted backups to ServerCrate Backup, and keep application data recoverable even when the server itself must be rebuilt.

What is still different from a traditional dedicated-IP VPS?

ServerCrate Cloud Servers currently use NAT networking. Your portal provides mapped SSH and service ports rather than assigning every server its own public IPv4 address. This keeps entry plans affordable while still supporting common web, API, development, and self-hosted workloads.
