How it works

Bitcoin checkout without a third party.

Most hosts that accept cryptocurrency hand checkout to an outside payment processor. That company sees your payment, often your email, and sometimes asks for identity documents before it will forward the money. We took a different route: our team runs its own BTCPay Server, the open-source payment software built for merchants who want to accept Bitcoin directly.

When you choose Bitcoin at checkout, our BTCPay Server creates an invoice for your plan. Prices are set in US dollars, and the invoice shows the amount in BTC at the current rate along with an address and QR code. Pay from any Bitcoin wallet. Once the payment is detected, the order moves on and your server is provisioned. The whole path, from invoice to deploy, runs on infrastructure we operate.

What we collect

To create an account you need an email address and a password. That is the whole list. We use the email for invoices, renewal notices and support replies. We do not ask for your name, phone number or address to rent a server.

Card and PayPal are there too

Bitcoin is an option, not a requirement. You can pay by card or PayPal on any plan, and you can switch between methods from one invoice to the next. Your plan price is locked at signup no matter how you pay.

Renewals in Bitcoin

A card can be charged automatically. Nobody pulls money out of a Bitcoin wallet but you, which is part of the point. So with Bitcoin, each renewal arrives as an invoice you pay yourself. If you would rather not do that every month, pick yearly billing: you pay 10 months and get 12, in one transaction.

Server plans, payable in BTC.

Monthly prices in USD, invoiced in Bitcoin at the rate when you pay. Yearly is 10 times monthly. Renewal is always your signup price.

Privacy that holds up past checkout.

Paying privately matters less if the rest of the service leaks. A few things we do across the platform:

  • Post-quantum TLS on every service. The portal, the server panel and our edge use the hybrid X25519MLKEM768 key exchange, so your logins and console sessions resist record-now, decrypt-later attacks. Verify it yourself.
  • Zero-knowledge backups. Our backup vaults store Restic repositories that are encrypted on your machine before upload. We hold ciphertext, not your keys. Bitcoin node operators can follow our Restic guide for Bitcoin data.
  • A public security posture. How we run the platform, and what we will and will not do with your data, is written up on our security page.

A private server is still only one disk failure or bad command away from data loss. Keep an offsite copy and practice the restore on our recovery drill page.

Bitcoin VPS questions.

Who processes my Bitcoin payment?

We do. Payments go through a BTCPay Server instance our team runs ourselves. There is no third-party crypto processor between you and us, so your payment details are not shared with another company.

What do I need to sign up?

An email address and a password. We do not ask for a name, phone number or postal address to open an account.

How do renewals work when I pay in Bitcoin?

Bitcoin payments are sent from your wallet, not pulled from it, so each renewal arrives as an invoice you pay. You can also choose yearly billing, which is 10 times the monthly price and means one payment a year.

Can I mix payment methods?

Yes. You can pay one invoice in Bitcoin and another by card or PayPal. The plan and its locked price stay the same.

Does the money-back guarantee apply?

Yes. Every plan carries our 30-day money-back guarantee, whichever way you paid.

Is paying in Bitcoin anonymous?

It is more private than a card, because we never see a bank or card account. It is not anonymous: Bitcoin transactions are public on the blockchain, and good wallet hygiene is still up to you.
